“I was naked and you clothed meʺ. Matthew 25, 36

sol diattaTida DiattaThe graces of Pope Francis’ year of Mercy continue to challenge us to the concrete love of our poor brothers and sisters.

Hélène Senghor, our aspirant Associate of the Kaïro Community (Samine) and I try to live out the corporal actions of Mercy, specifically “to clothe those who are naked.”

We offer clothing we collected from Joséphine Diatta and Jacqueline Diatta, teachers and colleagues from the ecclesial basic community of the village of Diattacounda.

We identified some needy families and gave clothes to their young girls: Edwige Samba Biaye, a teenager who lives in the village of Samine; Elisabeth Sadio, from Sincap village, near the border with Guinea-Bissau; and two girls from a Guinea-Bissau’s village, Tida Diatta and Tida Mané (in the pictures below).

We wanted to go beyond the border of our parish, which divides us from Guinea-Bissau.

We wanted realize Mother Frances’ Charism for the poor. The girls’ families told us "AINUMBARA" and "ABARAKA": the words for a simple “thank you” in their language…
