On Saturday September 3, 2016, three Novices, Pélagie Ilboudo, Geneviève Ndecky and Jacqueline Flavienne Sané, celebrated their First Profession in the chapel of St. Mary Magdalene in Mbao, Senegal, in the presence of our Congregational Minister Sister Licia, their families and friends.

With immense joy and a spirit of gratitude, the three young sisters talked about their experiences. This is what they said:

“Lord take care of me, I need you, I am nothing without you, and you know this Lord. Yes, the Lord has taken care of His poor servant, which is me, not because I deserve it, but because of His mercy."

imsd 02That day I became an apostle of His unfathomable mercy. What gratitude! What invaluable grace, to say yes in this Jubilee Year of Mercy. I have been brought to this important day with great joy and faith in the Lord, because I have felt surrounded by His infinite and eternal love.

Reading the formula of consecration was very intense because, with much emotion and gratitude, I was aware that I was giving myself over to God. I am not merely changing the way I dress, I am changing my entire being.

Persevering in this commitment requires that I have faith in the grace of God, and also have faith in myself. With the support of my Sisters, I will live my consecration responsibly, authentically, with simplicity and humility.

The presence of my family, my friends, especially my paternal family members who do not share my Faith, moved me deeply. The path is personal, but we can never walk alone. I received my life freely, and freely I place it in the service of people who are poor and suffering.

The beautiful and edifying homily of father Marcel gave me something by which to always remember what I have promised the Lord in His Church.
I was greatly honored by the presence of Sister Licia, our Congregational Minister who accepted my vows. It was the most beautiful day of my life, because I said yes to the Lord.

I thank all the people who have been a part of my journey and who continue to support me, especially my Sisters of the Congregation, especially the Senegalese Sisters, my Formation Directors, the Associates and benefactors.

May the Lord, in this Year of Mercy, shower us all with grace and blessings for the intercession of Mother Frances and Saint Francis.

With gratitude,
Sister Jacqueline Flavienne Sané.

It was an unforgettable moment for me. To say yes to the Lord, in the presence of the family of Mother Frances, filled me with joy.

I was moved by the words of affection expressed by our Congregational Minister, Sr. Licia, and many other people: friends, my mother and the rest of my family who wanted to share prayer and my offering to God with me. All this made me feel grateful to our Creator.

I felt, with wonder, the mercy with which God looked upon me and called me to Him. I will never stop being thankful to Him. I want to serve Him through my poor brothers and sisters, as Mother Frances taught through her life.

I am very happy to consecrate myself to God, and to undertake only to do His will.
I thank the Congregation which has allowed me to receive this joy and blessing from God.

Thanks and union in prayer,

Sister Geneviève Ndecky

imsd 03"What shall I return to the Lord for all his goodness to me? I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the Lord." (Psalm 116, 12-14)

"This day of the Lord is a blessed day, a day of joy and happiness in which our names have been written in the book of life by the King of Kings." (Sister of the Divine Mercy)

The day I said yes to the Lord I received wonderful gifts, like the presence of Sister Licia who accepted our vows, the presence of my parents and Father Edmond, a family friend. The many faithful who came to pray for us were also a gift.
My ‘yes’ to God showed me also that Faith opens us to His wonders. My faith unites me with God and makes Him the joy of my life. He is capable of enabling me to release His energy of healing with a spirit of gratitude.

The grace that I ask of God is to be able to embrace the words of St. Peter: “My beloved, I remind you...the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands, protects the Faith in all its beauty, with the help of the Holy Spirit." Amen. (2 Tm 1)
