novi 01 bAdriana, Carmen e RobertaOn May 30 in Vermicino, two young women said “yes” to God: Carmen and Roberta. Roberta entered the Novitiate and Carmen the Pre-Novitiate. Their faith and trust in God helps our religious Family continue to spread the culture of the Resurrection.

We would like to share this joyful event with you through the eyes of Adriana, who is currently based at the Youth Center: “There are days when the desire for the happiness that guides every man and woman's journey through life makes the distance between earth and sky appear shorter. This is what happened here at Casetta Nova on May 30th, the day when, with trust, Carmen and Roberta said “yes” to the next step that God was asking them to make in their lives. To be part of this particular day with them was a gift that gave me a taste of the Grace that accompanies people who decide to put their lives in the hands of God."

… THE DISTANCE BETWEEN SKY AND EARTH IS SHORTER WHEN YOU LISTEN TO GOD'S WISHES…

This is what Carmen says about her path: “The words recited in our paralitugy, ‘What are you looking for? Come and you will see’ (John 1:39), marked the most important milestone so far on my path to God. Each word lit a small light on my path, helping me recognize God coming into my life. They led me toward the tenderness and serenity that come from me hearing the words: ‘Come Carmen and you will see the place of intimacy where your Lord lives.’”

Roberta condenses what she knows into some basic images: “I would like to be the finger that points to the presence of God's Love for us all. While this is a path to high peaks, it also will put blisters on my feet and also pitfalls in my way. But I know that God will guide me to calm waters: He will not leave me alone".

novi 02Sr. Michela, Adriana, Sr. Raffaella, Sr. Paola, Carmen, Sr. Jenny, Roberta… THANK YOU TO THOSE WHO, SHARING THIS GREAT JOY, SUPPORT ME ALONG THIS PATH

"I had not contemplated joy for some time. However, as I walked the path symbolically trodden by Carmen and Roberta in the Novitiate chapel, I did so as I tried to put myself in their shoes. I felt fear, but stronger than that was the strength of life, and the Love that makes us believe and take risks. Courage and trust, Roberta and Carmen, we walk with you!" Sr. Marvi

"Our family feels the pain of the separation from Roberta, but it was a great comfort to us to hear our daughter and sister serene, and warmly welcomed into the family of the Franciscan Sisters of the Poor. Sharing the paraliturgy for her entry into the Novitiate gave us confidence and, in particular, helped us understand the choice our Roberta made: a path made up of small steps, travelled with the courage of someone who puts their hope in God and in His faithful Providence." Roberta's family

"We are more convinced than ever that to love is to give. As parents we want nothing more than joy for our children. Carmen's joy is apparent as we look at her smile. We believe she has achieved joy and that nobody can ever take it away." Carmen's family

… AND MANY THANKS TO ALL WHO, READING THESE WORDS, MAKE IT POSSIBLE TO SPREAD TODAY’S GRACE EVEN FURTHER.
