We, the Franciscan Sisters of the Poor, are an international and intercultural religious Congregation called to heal the wounds of Christ in poor and suffering humanity and in wounded creation.

Our foundress is Blessed Frances Schervier (1819-1876). Her healing charism encourages us daily to promote the life and dignity of people, especially the most defenseless, invisible, and marginalized; to develop concrete projects in favor of those in need; to offer hope for the present and the future; to build the common good and unity among people, populations, and cultures in the harmony of their diversity.

Being agents of healing and hope, healing the wounds of poor and suffering humanity, healing the wounds of "Mother Earth" is the cornerstone of our mission as Franciscan Sisters of the Poor, called to witness to God's love with compassion, kindness, joy and mercy, in the footsteps of Francis and Clare of Assisi.
