Psalm from the Morning Prayer of Resurrection Sunday
by St. Francis

Holy Virgin Mary, there is no one like you born in the world among
women: Daughter and Handmaid of the most high, sovereign King, the
heavenly Father, Mother of our most holy Lord Jesus Christ; Spouse of
the Holy Spirit, pray for us with Saint Michael the archangel and with all
the powers of the heavens and with all the saints, together with your most
holy beloved Son, Lord and Teacher.

Sing to the Lord a new song,
For He has done wonderful deeds.
The Lord ordained His mercy,
and in the night His canticle.

This is the day the Lord has made:
Let us rejoice and be happy.
Blessed is He Who comes in the name of the Lord,
The Lord is God and he shines among us.

Let the heavens be glad and the earth rejoice,
Let the sea and all that is within it swell
Let the fields and all they contain rejoice.

Sing to God, you kingdoms of the Earth,
Sing hymns to the Lord.
Sing hymns to God, Who ascends over the highest heavens,
Rising over the east.

God is wonderful in his saints,
Blessed be the Lord.

Holy Virgin Mary, there is no one like you…

mp 02HeQi, China, “Women Arrive at the Tomb ”

My mouth tells of joy…My hands are opened to gratitude…My
body expresses happiness…God of Life is Risen from death!
I am entering into contact with my whole being, I taste and bear
witness to the gift of this new Easter…

From the Easter letter from Mother Frances

General House, Wednesday of the Octave of Easter, 1864

Dear, good Sr. Dominica,
First of all I wish you and all the dear Sisters very happy Easter
Our beloved Savior wants to help us so that we, too, can rise again
to a new life; so, as He was freed from the tomb leaving behind the bandages
that had wrapped him, so we also are freed from all the constraints that keep
us tied to what is land, creatures, our very selves, so we can freely take flight
toward Him.
Greetings in the name of the Lord and God Bless!

Your faithful Mother Frances

mp 03Jill Iversen, USA “Holy Spirit”With Mother Frances do we dare to take off on a flight that opens
us to the changes in our life, free to travel on paths of newness?

Together, as the Franciscan Sisters of the Poor family, let us be
“challenged” by the Lord’s Easter and “let us fly”, open to the
gift of ourselves and to transformations in our lives…

 Closing Prayer

Radiate into our spirit, Lord, the energy of Your Resurrection, so that
our hearts can know how to overcome fear, how to recognize always Your
presence, and how to share hope and joy. For Christ our Lord.
